WHERE IS PLAYA COSON?
Playa Coson is located in the northern part of the Dominican Republic, in the Terrenas province of Samaná, It is located approximately 158 kilometers from the capital, Santo Domingo . Its name is due to the fact that it is located at the mouth of the Cocón River, which makes it a unique space with one of the best sunsets in the country.
HOW TO GET TO PLAYA COSON IN LAS TERRENAS SAMANÁ
Getting to Playa Coson may take you more or less time depending on where you leave.
From Santo Domingo, the bus trip takes just two and a half hours. From Playa Bávaro, for example, the trip takes six hours and forty-five minutes.
As always, there is also the option of taking a taxi or renting a car. This makes the trip from Santo Domingo just 2 hours with the new Boulevard del Atlantico highway. You can choose between the different options depending on how much time you have to explore Playa Cosón.

Due to three rocky stones in the distance that resemble humpback whales, this wide and wide stretch of white sand with a calm, shallow sea is located right in the heart of the small town of Las Terrenas. Punta de Popy Beach
This white sand beach runs the length of the city center, hidden between Playa Punta Popy and Playa Las Ballenas. You’ll notice fisherman canoes in parts, as well as a handful of beachfront bars, hotels, and a boardwalk for those who want to walk along the beach.
Playa Punta Popy is the social beach and water sports center of Las Terrenas. Dotted with a maze of giant palm trees, its white sand shores offer the perfect wind and wave conditions for kitesurfers, new or experienced.
